Job Summary:
The Public Relations Director will develop and execute comprehensive public relations and communications programs that contribute to the growth of the business, differentiate Chase Paymentech in the marketplace, enhance our reputation and brand, and create awareness of our products and services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Create strategic PR and communication programs and campaigns in support of corporate positioning and marketing initiatives
•Win approval for those programs by seeking support through peers, stakeholders, and then presenting the proposals to EVP Marketing and senior officers/partners
•Function persuasively and effectively in a consensus-driven culture
•Execute those programs through in-house as well as external resources
•Provide counsel, as needed about the role of PR in support of their initiatives
•Maintain a high degree of creativity and offer fresh approaches to campaigns and programs
•Develop trust and build support for funding of PR initiatives from the marketing organization, including executives responsible for the co-branding initiatives
•Act as media relations counsel with EVP Marketing to senior executives
•Support Internal Communications and Web initiatives as needed
•Act as liaison with national and regional business and trade media
•Develop internal staff and foster opportunities for growth and development
•Inform Chase Paymentech counterparts of significant media information and activities that are relevant to their activities
•Provide regular updates and reports to the EVP Marketing of all significant activities; seek counsel as needed
•Regularly liaise with the internal communications function to review developments so that communications campaigns are coordinated both within Chase Payments and externally as necessary
•Prepare written proposals, outlines, critical press releases, review and edit internal and agency documents prior to presentation to senior officers, partners or for release
Job Requirements:
•Bachelors degree in marketing, public relations, or other related field with a minimum of ten years of public relations experience, corporate or agency background in a competitive business-to-business environment
•Project management experience - managed people, projects and budgets, and client assignments for financial services and/or business-to-business organizations
•Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic and tactical integrate communications and public relations plans
•Facilitation skills to lead multi-level strategic planning sessions
•Track record of creative programs executed to meet business objectives
•Strong writing skills and the ability to convert ideas and strategies into compelling messages are required
•Media relations and reputation management and development at a national level is expected
